In September 2019 I started this small painting En Plein Air in the Vondelpark. Later I changed it during lockdown periods, in the studio. I let a deep red mist descend between the trees. The park was completely extinct for a while during lockdowns. This small canvas, which started out so cheerful, has become increasingly brooding. To eventually get the title Whispering Trees.
