Gea Zwart is a Dutch visual artist who works under the names STUDIO GEA ZWART and RECYCLE YOUR DARLING.
She has been working as an independent artist and designer since 1992. She completed her studies at the Minerva Academy of Fine Arts in Groningen.
Various awards have been given to her work in the fields of art and entrepreneurship. Her art is exhibited both internationally and in her home country. Pieces have been purchased by companies and private collectors.
She experiments with all kinds of materials and creates complex wall sculptures and modern paintings.
Gea Zwart graduated in 1992 as an independent artist specialising in painting. She continued to develop as an artist, with graphic design playing an important side role for many years. Since 2019, she has focused entirely on independent art and commissioned work.
RECYCLE YOUR DARLING is her latest venture. Her painting is closely intertwined with it in visual terms.

I strive for powerful work that is also poetic. I approach the creative process as expeditions. The result is distinctive art for the wall.
Adventure, humanity, nature and the source form the foundation
We experience change every day simply by living. What are our emotions in these situations? I am incredibly interested in our behaviour. Why do we act the way we do?
Nature is pure transformation; it is constantly in motion. I use nature as a metaphor to convey emotions. For example, a storm, the last light of day, growth. Often in combination with faces.
I walk in nature a lot and regularly paint and draw En Plein Air. To recharge and find inspiration, it is the source.
I live in the Randstad and come into contact with all sorts of people. This mix creates a balance between dynamism and tranquillity. You will find this reflected in my art.

We must take care of our planet. The reuse of materials is in line with this mindset. Residual materials are not thrown away, but transformed into brand-new works of art full of character and meaning.
