SOURCE
Everyone has a source. The place where you recharge. Where you feel yourself. I find the source for my artwork in nature and in my interactions with people. My artwork grows out of these experiences. For me, art and life are closely connected.
People I meet, stories, poems, books, and music are also important sources of inspiration for my work. They intertwine and create different layers from which my art emerges.
Nature is a great source of inspiration. I literally work in nature during my En Plein Air studies. There, I create drawings and paintings of subjects like blooming, growth, light, movement, and the elements. Experience of nature is central.
Once drawn, I’ll always know what it looks and feels like. This information is locked in my mind. As I create new works of art, these images and feelings flow back as associations.
I hope my artwork, in turn, inspires others. As the source of inspiration.
